Ray Tanner, USC Baseball Coach, annual Visit:
Coach Tanner has visited our club the first meeting of the year for the past 10 years. This year's presentation focused on the new baseball stadium that will be ready for Fall 2008 practices and the regular season staring Feb 2009. He also briefed us on the new NCAA scholarship and walk-on rules and the projected Gamecock lineup for this year.

The Columbia Kiwanis Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious service clubs in the Midlands of South Carolina. In March 2005 we celebrated our 85th anniversary. Our members include many distinguished state and local government leaders, business professionals, attorneys, university professors and staff, ministers and medical doctors.

Our service projects include supporting a boy's cottage at the  Carolina Children's Home, as well as sponsoring and supporting the University of South Carolina Circle-K Club, three local high school Key Clubs, and Terrific Kids programs at several elementary schools.

We strongly encourage inter-club participation from members of the other Kiwanis Clubs in our area.
