October 22 - SERVICE PROJECT: Home Works Service Day: Kiwanis will be joining Home Works of America to repair dilapidated housing for low-income, elderly homeowners. Home Works is a nonprofit founded to “repair homes of homeowners in need, assist youth in their development, and empower communities to meet the needs of their members.” Volunteers from different groups will be working at 10 or 15 homes in Columbia that day, and the Kiwanis work site is still to be determined. Please contact Will Dillard (will@belserpa.com, 803-760-0590) by no later than Oct. 4th to sign up for one or both of the following shifts (note that USC is off the weekend of 10/22):

Morning shift: 7:00am-11:30am
Afternoon shift: 12:00pm-4:00pm

For more details on Home Works, visit http://homeworksofamerica.org/. Home Works requests that all volunteers bring a $25 donation to help fund the renovation work. The club will donate this contribution on your behalf from our service budget for all participants.
